Angels Win

We went to another game...of course the Angels won, 4-3. Frankie had a another save, making it his 53rd save of the season. What a great game it was, except for being stinkin' hot. This family in front of us bought 5 rally monkeys, 3 foam fingers, and 3 more tiny rally monkeys. It was hillarious. We just kept watching the vendors come and bring stuff to this family. Well, we're off to bed.

A "HOT" Friday Night

Well...this week has been very very hot. We actually had to use me air conditioner. We usually don't have to use it since we're gone at work during the day and at night you just open up the windows for a cool breeze from "Blowmont" a.k.a. Beaumont. I had the air on high each night this week. It felt so miserable! I don't know how some of you do it in the heat and humidity. Not only has it been really hot, in the triple digits, but also really humid. Something you don't usually get in Southern California. But guess what, surprise we had it this week. Thankfully it has started to cool down tonight.

On another note, Grandpa Aten came down and he finally came to see our house and our two puppies. He loved them so much. They had a blast playing with Grandpa. And like usual they tired him out instead of us tiring them out. These dogs can go a mile a minute and never stop once for a drink of water. It's amazing. Delilah is like a kangaroo and Samson chasing behind her.

This weekend is a three day weekend for Labor Day and it is jam packed for us. Angel game tomorrow night. I'll post later. I hope they win. They've been doing good! Sunday we have church and then one of my best friends is getting married in the evening. She going to look beautiful. I can't wait! Monday David is going dove hunting for opening day and I'm with Cassie and Brandon as they open their wedding gifts at her parents house. What a fun-filled weekend we have to look forward to. So off to catch my rest now, cause we're gonna need it for the rest of the week to come.

Life...

Well it has been a crazy week of just life. I know God doesn't give us anything we can't handle...but somtimes I don't think I can truly handle all that God puts on my plate. I know I can...it's just a lot to take in at times. Deep down, sometimes I just want to scream and shout why. The Lord proves to me daily that it's all going to work out through reading, praying, and friends being there for me. Somehow, throughout my day, the Lord demonstrates how much I truly mean to Him. I thank the Lord daily for all that He has given me. He has truly blessed us with EVERYTHING we have. I couldn't thank Him enough for all of the many blessings. Still in this many blessings He gives us, I still have trials. I don't always understand them but God has a purpose and a plan for us. Even little ol' me.
As some of you know, I have recently found out that I have a thyroid problem. It scares me still that it may be cancer but I just continue to wait on God and He leads me through. As much as I am not a real patient person, God IS teaching my patience and perseverance. Just continue to pray that the doctors know what to do about my thyroid. I wish it was just something they could take care of right now, but medicine doesn't work that way, so I wait. I have an appt. at Redlands Hospital on September 8th and 9th. Pray for me that it all works out accordingly. Maybe a miracle will happen and it will be gone. In the mean while, I'm waiting and praying.

Date Night

Tonight David and I went on a date. It was so much fun. We went to Red Robin for dinner. I had this amazing crispy chicken salad. It was so good and huge. I couldn't finish it all. Of course, the garbage disposal (David-LOL) finished it off; or what he could of it. We then went to Bass Pro Shop in Victoria Gardens. That store is gigantic. It's so cool too! Found some cool stuff, but only bought some shotgun shells for David to go hunting next week. We then walked around and I got to buy a cute dress and then some soap from Bath and Body Works. I feel like I'm getting old, cause I got excited for the soap and that it was on sale. 7 for $20 bucks, that's a steal. Oh well, have to get old sometime. We then decided we wanted some ice cream so we went to Cold Stone and then came home.
What a fun date it was. I love David so much. I don't know what I would do without him. Well, off to bed. Talk to you tomorrow! David is attempting to change the breaks in the Corolla; good thing my dad will be helping him. Hehehehehe!!!!

Back to School Night!

Tonight was back to school night and it went so well. for the 1st time in 3 years, I didn't finish in 10 minutes. LOL!!! I had a packed room the first session and then a small one the last session. It was a lot of fun! The parents are very happy and wanting to volunteer in the classroom. I will really use the parent volunteers this year, especially with the combo class.
Well off to get rest for the last day of the first week of school. Tomorrow will go by very fast; my students have computer lab and P.E. tomorrow. 2 hours of no students. Time to get my planning done for next week and copies made.

Back to school!

So school started on Monday, August 18th. I was a bit nervous, since I am teaching a 5/6 combo class this year. However, my day was GREAT!!! My students are fabulous, with the exception to a couple chatty 5th graders, but hey...who doesn't talk. (I talk all the time). Hehehe!! It has been so much fun these past 3 days with my students. I couldn't have asked for a better group of kids for my class. They are wonderful in many ways.
Parents are so nice and want to help out in the classroom as well. I can't say how much I am going to need that. I am a little overwhelmed still, cause it's a lot to do, but God will get me through it all. I KNOW!!! And my principal has faith in me too! LOL. Exact words from her are: "Gina, You can handle it." Sometimes that phrase gets a little irritating, but then I think about all the things God has done for me and I knew He could do it, so therefore, He in turn is returning the favor of me. Just keep me in your prayers as I try my very best.
Back to school night is tomorrow and I am as ready as I can be. A little scared of what some of the parents may ask or assume about a combo class, but yet at the same time, ready to tell them why their kids are special. More on how Back to school night went tomorrow when I get home.
Well, I am off to get a good nights' rest, so I am refreshed in the morning. Talk to you tomorrow.
